The Red Door Book Club
Step into our monthly book club — where coffee meets conversation and pages turn into friendships.
Behind the Red Door, Stories Await
Reach out to Masha for details or to join the next meeting.
It all started almost by accident. One day, a woman peeked into our back room and asked, “This room is perfect for the book club!” Two other guests overheard her, came up to Masha (the barista), and said, “Wait, do you really have a book club here?” Masha smiled and answered, “Not yet — but let’s make one.” And that’s how our Red Door book club was born.
Every meeting becomes its own little event. When we read The Diamond Eye about a Soviet woman sniper, Masha — who is from Russia — baked blinis so everyone could taste traditional Eastern European food. When we read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, we even connected with the author herself, who joined us on Zoom and became part of our conversation. And when the story took us to China, Jeanne brought a pair of tiny shoes once worn by women after foot binding, giving us a tangible glimpse into history. We also create themed drinks and cocktails for every gathering. Our book club has grown into one of our greatest joys and sources of pride at Red Door.
You’re always welcome to join our club — or host your own in our cozy back room. We can help set the atmosphere and even prepare snacks and drinks inspired by your book. For the next meeting or to reserve the space, just send us a message on Instagram in our Direct @reddoorcafeindy— we’ll be thrilled to welcome you!
